Migros Chooses Core Solutions to Scale Private Label Sourcing

Core Solutions’ CBX will help Switzerland’s largest retailer streamline product development, global sourcing and order management

Hong Kong / Zurich, March 1, 2010 – Core Solutions, a leading provider of Product Lifecycle Management, Global Sourcing and Vendor Collaboration solutions in the retail industry, today announced that Migros has selected Core Solutions to support the retailer’s growth in direct sourcing.

Switzerland’s leading retailer Migros operates the country’s largest supermarket chain and other retail outlets including Globus department stores. Migros supermarket offering is distinguished by a heavy reliance on private-label goods. Today, more than 95 percent of the items on the company's shelves come from its own brands, and many of which are manufactured by the company itself.

Migros (Hong Kong) Ltd., Migros’ buying office in Asia with subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen, is currently implementing CBX PLM, Sourcing and Order Management modules to streamline sourcing in Asia of private labeled goods. Migros (Hong Kong) Ltd. will use the CBX to source hardgoods, apparel and food products and drive improvements in operational efficiencies and cost of goods.
